Oh the things I could tell you that Josiah has come up with, but I'll keep this a G rating and just tell you the less suggestive things...
There are some things that my kids say or mispronounce that are so catchy they become a word of their own, or they replace the real word at least at our house. Some of the ones that come to mind are Micah's be-be. It's really his word for baby and for some reason that's what he started calling his blanket, so now that's what it is...his be-be. And if any of us ask where be-be is, we all know what we're talking about and usually, HOPEFULLY, someone knows where it is because believe me when I say that is one special be-be.
Josiah always chooses to be a 'furious' leader, instead of a fearless one, so now I ask who's going to be my furious leader. I can already hear it though...one day Josiah is going to realize that it's usually fearless and he's going to correct me and say, "MOOOOM, it's not furious, it's FEARLESS!" And I'll just have to smile and say, "Oh, how could I have missed that?"
One of my favorites right now is Micah's "mlem-mlay" or on a day with less sylables, "lem-lay" that would be the word for lemonade. I just think its so cute how he says it that I've started saying it too. Like when Josiah's blankie was his wonkie, and when we would "skank" God for our food, or 'I love you' became 'yuh-you' and we'd all just yell "TATER!" when someone left, short for "later tater"...

Two Little Monkies
Did we scare you? ha-ha! The boys love to make faces. We have a mirror hung at their level in the dining room and they will just stand there with each other trying out different faces and telling each other to "watch this." Then they try out the faces the other one made and usually just dissolve into laughter. I thought you might like to see some of them too!
And this is how Micah decided to wear his shirt today. "Almost like Tarzan" as Josiah says. No one knows why he didnt want to put his other arm in, but he was VERY adamant about it. Choose your battles, right? Anyway, hes kept it like that all morning, so I guess he likes it.

These are a few of my favorite things...
When I'm watching and playing with my kids, there are so many funny and silly things they do it is sometimes hard to just choose one or two to tell you about. But, today I've done it and I'm going to share my two favorite things about my two favorite boys.
Micah's shrug
Micah has started to say "I don't know." Really, it sounds like "uh no" but he hunches his little shoulders up and leaves his hands at his side and there is just something about it that I think is cute. In fact, in recent days when I've been down about the knee situation I'll get him to say it just so I have something to smile about! Here is a pic:

Josiah's sniffs
On the way back from Aunt Krissy and Uncle Chris's house in January, Josiah had a runny nose. He was stocked with tissues back in his car seat, but for some reason decided to come up with a better method of snot control. Thus was born 'The Double Sniff'. How does this work? well, you scrunch your face up to one side and sniff real hard over there

Then you quickly scrunch to the other side and sniff real hard over there

Sorry this last one is blurry, but you get the idea. When he does this, he'll do it for about 30 seconds at at time, just switching back and forth and every time he scrunches his face like that. I think it affects the effectiveness of the technique. I laughed so hard in the car that first time he did it that I was crying. He still does it occasionally and it never fails to make me laugh!
So those are my two funnies for today. Hope you enjoyed them too!

Ski Trip 2007
There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt. --Erma Bombeck
Well, I know everyone is anxious to hear about our ski trip, so I will not delay in sharing our most recent adventures. I think in recapping I'll get all the bad out of the way first and then I'll tell you all the highlights from the trip. It all started with the flight out that should have taken 6 hours and ended up taking 12, 2 of which were sitting at the gate, in an airplane in Knoxville. Because of that delay we missed our connecting flight in Atlanta and spent several hours there waiting for the next flight. That was Thursday. Friday afternoon John got sick. Turns out he has the flu and strep throat. Sunday I "tore" my ACL (I put it in quotes because I am still hopeful that they misdiagnosed me. For those who have been asking, I have an appointment Saturday morning with Knoxville Orthopedics). Also on Sunday, John's return flight was delayed and he ended up staying an extra day because he would have missed his connecting flight. (Not that I complained about that because I was gimp by then) Tuesday I slipped and fell on the ice on my way to the car to go to the airport. Ok, so thats the bad. Now for all the good!
The boys were WONDERFUL travellers. They entertained themselves well on the planes. They entertained others, too, with their versions of "Tomorrow" "Frosty the Snowman" and "Rudolph". And thank you so much Karen for letting us borrow the DVD player, because that was a HUGE help! But they were so happy and cheerful almost the whole time! Oh, and Micah was even working on getting his first girlfriend with all the flirting he did with the flight attendant on our last flight. They really were great and fun to be around. Here is a picture of Micah entertaining himself during our 2 hour interlude on the plane:

And Josiah got to sit in the cockpit and pretend to fly...complete with the captains hat!

During our layover in the Atlanta airport Josiah got to meet some soldiers (Army guys) who were all very nice and gave him some money from Qatar, and some cardboard Army money. Josiah told them he might be a soldier when he got bigger and they advised he go into the air force! On the way home, I had to ride in a wheelchair, which Micah called my "stroller." He even got to ride with me in my stroller in Salt Lake, and then we had side by side strollers in Cincinatti. Micah thought that was all very fun.
Josiah had a great time at ski school. He and Justin looked so cute all bundled up and scootching around on the snow. They really liked riding the magic carpet that took them back up to the top of the hill. Both of them even got to go skiing on the bunny hill with the big kids! Here is a picture of Josiah on his skis:

And of course it was wonderful to see everyone there, and really that's what its all about. Although John was in bed most of the time, so he didn't really get to do that much, but I had a lot of fun seeing everyone! And, contrary to what some fear, we are very hopeful that the next ski trip will be tons better! We all got home safely and are recovering, so we'll count our blessings there. John is already feeling better since starting his medicine yesterday and the boys slept over 12 hours last night, so whats to complain about? I'll keep you posted about the knee. Oh, and here's one more picture of the boys passing time in the Atlanta airport:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. --Mark Twain
