The boys went to VBS this week. It was the first time they've gone to one, and overall they had a great time. Like me and my sister, Josiah and Micah seem to be opposites in many ways. Josiah was scared to stay the first day, but excited every other day and Micah was excited the first day and cried about staying all the others (even though he always had fun). Since it's the first time they've been to a VBS program, it took them a little while to get used to what it's called. Micah kept calling it VCR. "Mommy, do I have to go to the VCR again tomorrow?" and Josiah was calling it BSF 70 (I'm sure this is thanks to our time at the beach and being lathered up with SPF 70 sunscreen). "I had fun at BSF 70."
One day when we were leaving the VCR, I started to back out of the parking spot and Micah yelled out,
"Duuuude! I'm not buckled yet!"
Micah was really against me leaving him on Friday. So, I agreed to hang out with him until the puppet show (at 9:20, the day started at 9:00). I sat and watched most of the puppet show with him before Emilia got squirmy and we had to leave, but apparently he was good to go after that, anyway. Later, when I asked him what his favorite part of VBS was, he said, "When you came to the puppets with me." Awww....
Josiah spent most of yesterday singing songs from the VBS program. He has a favorite song from it that he sings most of the time, but every now in then he'll sing a snippet of another one.
And I gotta tell you, I am a B*I*G fan of these VBS programs that are in the morning! Most of them around here are at night, some going as late as 9 p.m.! That's waaaay past my kids bedtime! But this one was from 9-noon and ooooooh, was it nice for me!! Uh...I mean, ooooh, did the kids have fun!! ;)

Glad that worked out for you (and your little guys)!. I couldn't find one around here like that, but that's ok. Glad they had fun at BSF 70. Too funny!
I loved that day he yelled out DUUUUDE IM NOT BUCKLED YET!!! so funny...and all thier names for it...=) and i had so much fun...just remember.....this is what happens when you drink alcohol....=) too funny......
I'm ignorant. Matt had to explain to me what VBS was! Don't have those in the Catholic community in Brazil... Maybe next time you can put a footnote in your blog for us, laypeople.... :) And, yes, drove by a church and the sign in the front said, "VBS 6 pm to 9 pm" -- to which I thought, what the heck? That's past my bedtime!!!
Braden has his first VBS last week too! The kids have to have finished pre-K or kindergarten to go to many of the ones around here. But we did find one that B and his friends could go too. It was, umm, very nice to only have to cart around one child for the many errands I ran that week. :) B had fun too!
